Its very green in the Huen household today in honor of St Patty. As you can tell in the pic we are all wearing green too! Thanks Auntie Lovey #1 (aka Auntie Chena) for the green onesie. It came in very handy on a day like today!
My second cousin Sarah came today all the way from Boston! It was great seeing her and hearing about whats going on with her and her family. She came bearing gifts from the Kwan family! The bear is already one of my best friends.
Tomorrow, Im headed to the doctor to get my vaccinations. Maybe mommy will give me an extra feeding for being so brave to get all those shots. I hate shots....

Thinking of Japan
First of all, we were all so sad to see the news about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Fortunately, Mommy's family was able to connect with friends and relatives and everyone seems safe. Thats good news. We're all thinking and hoping for the best for everyone impacted in Japan.
The tsunami that hit Japan caused a little bit of concern for us here in San Francisco. We live a block from the water so we packed some light bags and headed to Fremont when we heard that there was a Tsunami watch for the West Coast. Luckily, there was no impact in our neighborhood and we went home last night.
Speaking of going home, Grandma and Grandpa Huen headed back to NYC yesterday morning. We were sad to see them go. However, the trip to Fremont let us hang out with Grandma and Grandpa Kimotsuki for the day. We had fun there. We prayed for the people in Japan.
Daddy helped Grandma set up her new HD Webcam and Skype. Now she can see me when I call on Skype. We got a chance to call call Uncle Michael yesterday and saw Mookie for the first time ;)
So, what do we have in store for the weekend? Mommy and Daddy are planning on taking me out to the Marina green on the beautiful sunny day. Maybe a little stroll down Chestnut to check out the iPad 2. Tomorrow, Grandma and Grandpa K are coming over to watch me while Mom and Dad go to the movies. I can't wait to hang out with them.
New pic of the day: Mom and Dad gave me a bath this morning after a morning of pooping. Ahhh, I feel so much better.

Out for a stroll
The stroller has officially been christened. Mommy and Daddy took me for walk down to Union Street today. Our mission was to head to the AT&T Wireless store to pick up a microcell. Our cell service at home stinks. We get one bar at home. We took the coupon we got in the mail and asked the AT&T folks to get us our free microcell. It was the best transaction we've had with AT&T from a customer service perspective. The rep was awesome and we left a very happy customer. We were hoping to swing by Pacific Puffs on the way home to pick up some cream puffs, but it just wasnt meant to be. Its closed on Mondays.
Further down Filmore Street, we found some disappointing news. Kasa has shut down. Now we'll have to venture out to Noe Valley to get our fix in for Indian Burritos :)
I cant believe Grandma and Grandpa Huen have been here for more than a week already. Friday, Daddy has to drive them to the airport so they can go back to New York. I suspect its not going to be the last I see of them. I bet they'll miss me and come back in a month.
Check out my new hair cut. Actually, I didnt get it cut, it just looks like this now. I dont think I need to worry about baldness. 6 weeks in and I got a TON of hair!
By the way, after Daddy installed the microcell, we now get 4 bars of service at home. Woohoo!

Rained In
Well, we were planning on taking the stroller out for a spin today. We had plans to go to the Marina farmer's market and head up to the Union Street AT&T store to get a free microcell. We only get one bar of service in our house. However, it never really quite stopped raining so we stayed home and napped instead. We'll try again tomorrow afternoon.
Uncle Roman cooked the whole family dinner tonight. Butternut squash soup and risotto with Asparagus. It was fantastic and we topped it all off with a little ice cream for desert.
Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Baby's FIrst Day Out
I took my first real trip outside of the house yesterday! We got in the car and headed out to Alameda (where Auntie Karen and Uncle Roman live) for a little family dinner. It was quite a little adventure just to get ready for our trip. Mom and Dad spent quite a long time in the morning deciding which stroller to bring, which bottles to pack, how many diapers, etc. The car was pretty much full with all my stuff for our little 4 hour outing. Time to buy a bigger car?
What a great time we had last night. Im a big fan of Chinese food. The highlight for me was definately the 2 crabs cooked to perfection. We love crab season! Grandpa Huen and Grandpa Kimotsuki shared stories about how they decided on my Japanese and Chinese name too.
Shinichi (新一) :My Japanese name was partially chosen because when the name is written in Kanji, it has one of the same characters as Daddy's name (the first character). It also happens to mean first son.
Yi Tian (义天): My Chinese name was partially chosen because it sounds like Ethan in Mandarin. Here is the meaning of the words in the name:

Long Time Off
Mommy and Daddy have been really busy this week. Last Sunday we celebrated both Daddy's birthday and my 1 month birthday. We had cake and I helped Daddy blow out the candles.
Daddy also had his first day of work at this new company, FireEye. Its been really busy for him and after his long 50 mile commute, he's been unable to help me type in my blog entries after work. However, he promised to start helping me write my blog more often going forward.
Mommy finally got her new closet doors. She was so excited until she found out the Sliding Door Company messed up on the size of the doors. Thank goodness her designer and contractor happened to see the work today and they contacted the Sliding Door Company. They are in the process of making it right. Phew.
Its been great Grandma and Grandpa Huen here. Im excited to see Grandma and Grandpa Kimotsuki again tomrorow. It will be my first real trip outside of the house tomorrow as we head to Uncle Roman and Auntie Karen's neighborhood.
