Vegas Baby!

A few weeks ago, we headed up to Vegas for a little family trip with Grandma and Grandpa Kimotsuki. We had a blast. It was our first flight on Virgin America and we loved it. A little breakfast burrito from Andele to start off the trip was a nice treat. We all watched the movie the Change Up on the way and we all got a kick out of struggling parents trying to learn how to take care of an infant. We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. Great hotel. They gave me 3 stuffed animals when I got there. The service was impeccable. We will probably stay there again for future visits to Vegas.

I got my own seat on Virgin America

I get to watch whatever I want. Dad made sure
I didnt accidentally order anything I wasnt supposed to.

Better Late Than Never

OK, OK, I know this entry was way over due. Its been a hectic week. For my birthday Mom and Dad arranged for a great brunch at Waterbar in San Francisco. It was a beautiful day and the restaurant offered a great view of the Bay and the Bay Bridge. It was awesome to celebrate with the most important people in my lives. Thank you all for making this a special year!

Birthday cake and Sesame Street. How did they know Elmo is my favorite!

Do I look older?

I think I look older, but so does my cuz!!

Happy 1st Birthday

I was going to post a little something today, but Dad wanted to take this opportunity to put down some of his own words. Take it away Dad!

1 year ago today, Ethan Shinichi Huen came into our lives. While that particular moment will always have a special place in our hearts, Sonia and I cant help to think about the hundreds (if not thousands) of other moments that have enriched our lives in the last year. Ethan, you have given us so much over the last year. Your energy is contagious, your smile is never waning, and just like your mother , you have the ability to brighten any room. As parents, your mom and I have always talked about what sort of things and virtues we would like to teach you, but the truth of the matter is that over the last year, you have actually taught us so many things. Many other parents have told us about how their lives changed when they had kids, but they were really only words to us. This experience has really opened our eyes and we thank you for it Ethan. We love you and cant wait to see what the future years hold for us.

Love your Mom and Dad

Stay tuned, for pics from my Birthday Brunch from the weekend!

They caught it on tape

For about 3 months, everyone was getting me to do this one trick. They would yell out "crooked"! And when they did , I would hang my head to the side as if my neck was "crooked"! This was one of everyone's favorite tricks. So they were doing it 3, 4. 5 times a day, and I would participate every time....until now. I hadn't done it in about 2 weeks, but I started doing it again yesterday. Mom and Dad were'nt able to capture this move on video before, so when I began re-introducing the move , they ran to to grab the camera and behold!

First pair of shoes! I was so excited when I got to try them on. They still feel a little funny on my toes, but I dig them!

Happy New Year!!

We started off the new year with Dim Sum in Alameda where we met Grandma and Grandpa Huen. It was a great way to start off the new year. Mom and Dad kept saying 2011 was a great year, probably the best they've ever had, and if 2012 only brings the same amount of happiness as 2011, they will be very lucky.

Later that day we headed to Fremont for dinner with the other side of the family. New years day is a special day in the Japanese culture and food is a big part of the day. Many of the foods have significance, and the dinner that Grandma Kimotsuki prepared was not only plentiful, but delicious.

My mouth is watering already for dinner! Check out the tongue action.

So were theirs!

His mouth is still watering!
Here's why our mouths were watering
